Manager Quality Engineer - Brick Shop

Location: Montreal, Canada; full-time, office-based position at MEGA Brands ULC.

What you will do

• Lead a team of Quality Engineers supporting global brand teams and product development programs.
• Shape and execute quality strategies covering product safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, risk management, and consumer expectations.
• Influence Marketing, Design, Product Development, Product Safety, Regulatory Compliance, laboratories, Manufacturing, and other partners throughout the product lifecycle.
• Oversee product investigations, root cause analysis, engineering studies, sampling strategies, risk assessments, verification, validation, and corrective actions.
• Use testing, consumer complaints, returns, manufacturing data, and quality metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop team capability, allocate resources, support hiring and succession planning, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in product development, product engineering, manufacturing, or quality roles, preferably in toys, children’s products, or consumer products.
• Experience leading engineers, technical teams, or significant cross-functional programs; formal people-management experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of global toy and consumer product safety standards, regulatory requirements, Quality Management Systems, and product development from concept through post-market support.
• Knowledge of FMEA, FTA, PHA, statistical analysis, sampling methodologies, engineering studies, process mapping, and root cause analysis.
• Experience working with product testing laboratories, global manufacturing, suppliers, and product performance data; proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management tools, and Minitab.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Human Factors and Usability Engineering principles applied to toys and consumer products.
