Base compensation: $197,000–$247,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead structural design for rail and transit facilities, including stations, maintenance shops, coachyards, service buildings, and right-of-way structures.
• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of Structural Engineers and Designers.
• Serve as technical lead for steel, concrete, and masonry analysis and design, including seismic and dynamic analysis.
• Conduct and review field investigations, structural assessments, and feasibility studies for new and existing facilities.
• Coordinate structural solutions with architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical, and systems disciplines while advising regional transit clients and supporting project planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Significant structural engineering experience in rail and transit, transportation, or industrial facilities.
• Experience delivering designs for MTA, Amtrak, LIRR, Metro-North, or comparable complex transit agencies.
• Strong knowledge of steel and concrete structural systems, AREMA, AASHTO, IBC, and New York City design requirements.
• Proficiency with SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, or similar structural analysis software, as well as Revit, MicroStation, or AutoCAD.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York required. Strong communication and engineering team leadership skills are also required.
