Staff Software Engineer - Fullstack (Space Systems)

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. U.S. citizenship or another qualifying protected-person status is required, along with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Salary: $158,000–$189,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build modern full-stack applications supporting space mission systems.
• Integrate and modernize legacy space-related ground and flight software.
• Develop distributed applications using microservices, cloud-native architectures, and DLT or consensus frameworks.
• Support on-orbit and ground-system integration and testing, including emulation, simulation, and interface validation.
• Implement DevSecOps pipelines, automated testing, and secure software practices.
• Develop UI/UX interfaces for mission operators and analysts while collaborating with system engineers, mission integrators, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant software engineering experience and demonstrated technical leadership.
• Experience architecting microservices, APIs, message buses, and high-availability systems.
• Experience integrating and testing software for space-based or ground mission systems.
• Professional experience with C++, C#, Rust, Python, or Go; SQL/NoSQL database design; and AWS, Azure, or GovCloud services.
• U.S. citizenship or qualifying protected-person status is required, as is the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Travel of up to 10% may be required.

Nice to have

• Existing security clearance, preferably TS/SCI.
• Experience with DoD/IC programs, ATO processes, classified systems, or spacecraft and flight/ground segment integration.
• Experience with high-performance computing, distributed processing, real-time systems, performance tuning, or resource-constrained environments.
• Familiarity with DLT, blockchain, consensus protocols, infrastructure as code, automated test frameworks, or modern UI/UX frameworks such as React, Vue, Svelte, or Blazor.
