Software Engineer III (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain an enterprise UI component library for SNC web applications.
• Operate a private package registry for secure distribution of internal npm, PyPI, Maven, and other artifacts.
• Create application templates and scaffolding tools for rapidly bootstrapping production-ready services.
• Build and improve an Internal Developer Portal covering service catalogs, documentation, templates, and platform tooling.
• Develop shared SDKs and platform libraries, write developer documentation, and enable engineering teams.
• Partner with Platform Engineering and AI teams while using DORA and SPACE metrics to improve developer productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in C++, Java, or Python and practical knowledge of software engineering principles.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, with React preferred, plus at least one backend language such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience building component libraries, design systems, or internal developer tooling.
• Familiarity with Backstage, Port, Cortex, or equivalent developer portal frameworks.
• Experience managing Nexus, Artifactory, GitHub Packages, or equivalent package registries.
