TL;DR
Chief AI Architect & Engineer (AI/ML): Leading AI architecture strategy and building end-to-end LLM-based systems, RAG architectures, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks for federal programs with an accent on secure cloud delivery and mission-focused solution design. Focus on architecting AI solutions within RMF and FedRAMP frameworks, guiding systems from concept through production, and translating complex AI capabilities into mission impact for government stakeholders.
Location: Washington, DC Area; hybrid

is partnering with a mid-sized federal IT and cybersecurity services firm supporting national security and federal civilian agencies.
What you will do
- Lead AI architecture strategy and technical roadmaps across federal programs.
- Design and build end-to-end AI/ML solutions, including LLM-based systems, RAG architectures, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
- Partner with federal stakeholders to identify high-impact AI opportunities and translate mission needs into deployed solutions.
- Guide solutions through the full lifecycle from concept and prototype to production deployment.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between government customers, engineering teams, and external partners.
- Architect solutions within RMF and FedRAMP security and compliance frameworks across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- 7+ years of experience in solution architecture, technical consulting, or field engineering focused on AI/ML.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, generative AI pipelines, prompt engineering, RAG, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or Semantic Kernel.
- Strong cloud architecture experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience leading AI initiatives from concept through production in complex, high-visibility environments.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
