Senior AI Engineer

Location: Princeton, New Jersey, United States; hybrid work combining home-based work with on-site presence at hirify.global offices or client sites. Client-facing work requires travel as needed. Must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Build and refine ML engineering platforms, scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices with FastAPI.
• Deploy and operationalize machine learning, deep learning, LLM, and generative AI models.
• Implement MLOps capabilities for model KPI tracking, drift detection, feedback loops, versioning, and A/B testing.
• Integrate Azure OpenAI, GPT-4 Vision, and other LLM providers with retry logic, error handling, and multimodal workflows.
• Build feature engineering, real-time inference, batch prediction, and continuous training pipelines for large datasets under strict SLAs.
• Develop LLM observability, prompt management, asynchronous Celery workflows, and cost and quota management systems.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on machine learning experience, including production LLM systems.
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong Python, SQL, asynchronous programming, object-oriented design, type hints, Pydantic, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar asynchronous frameworks, vector databases, embeddings, similarity search, and hybrid search.
• Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, transformer architectures, prompt engineering, NLP, computer vision, OCR, and document understanding.
• Fluency in English and United States work authorization without visa sponsorship are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with PySpark or Scala, Kubernetes, LangChain, Langfuse, and Azure cloud services.
• Knowledge of regulated healthcare or pharmaceutical workflows and regulatory compliance.
