Location: Round Rock, Texas; full-time on-site position at the Round Rock clinic

Texas Oncology is a large community oncology provider delivering evidence-based cancer care across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.

What you will do

  • Escort patients and record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes, and other pre-visit data.
  • Obtain patient records and prepare, stock, and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
  • Assist physicians with examinations and procedures, including delegated subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
  • Maintain room disinfection protocols and support safe care in an oncology and hematology clinic environment.
  • Answer patient calls, coordinate referrals, communicate prescription information, and notify physicians about reschedules and no-shows.
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks including chart preparation, reception, typing, filing, faxing, scheduling support, and entering orders under provider supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Level 1: 0–3 years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant; Level 2: at least 3 years; Senior: at least 5 years in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Current BCLS certification is required within 3 months of hire for Level 1; current CPR certification is required for the Senior level.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, handle and lift patients, and occasionally lift items up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work in an oncology and hematology clinic environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations.

Nice to have

  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Certified Medical Assistant credential.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
