Architect (Transit)

Location: Vermont Avenue, Washington, District of Columbia; full-time, onsite role

Salary: $102,094.36–$116,679.27 per year

What you will do

• Lead significant portions of architectural work from concept design through construction administration.
• Own building areas, station components, work packages, or smaller projects.
• Develop and coordinate Revit models, drawings, details, schedules, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with structural, civil, MEP, fire protection, transportation, systems, and planning disciplines.
• Identify technical risks, coordination conflicts, code issues, and constructability concerns and drive them toward resolution.
• Guide junior staff, support client presentations, participate in field investigations, and address RFIs, submittals, and construction-related design issues.

Requirements

• Professional degree in Architecture and architectural licensure.
• 5–8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong design judgment, technical production skills, and the ability to independently manage meaningful portions of projects.
• Experience with architectural detailing, building envelope systems, building codes, accessibility, life safety, zoning, specifications, and construction administration.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination, constructability, project delivery, communication, accountability, and attention to detail skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex passenger rail stations, station support facilities, accessibility improvements, systems integration, operational transportation environments, and complex phasing.
• Experience with OpenBuildings Designer, BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud, and AutoCAD.
• OpenBuildings Designer experience is highly valued but not required.
