Architect IV (Life Sciences)

Location: Jacksonville, FL, USA; onsite with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

What you will do

• Lead complex architectural projects through programming, planning, concept development, detailed design, documentation, and construction administration.
• Prepare code analyses, life-safety and egress plans, drawings, schedules, specifications, studies, presentations, and reports.
• Coordinate constructible designs with engineering, construction, estimating, internal teams, external partners, and clients.
• Support construction through RFI responses, submittal reviews, progress reports, drawing reviews, coordination meetings, and quality checks.
• Assist with resource planning, budgets, scope, schedules, and project deliverable quality.
• Act as Architect of Record, resolve complex design and construction challenges, and mentor architectural staff.

Requirements

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture, such as B.Arch, M.Arch, or D.Arch, or a Canadian/international equivalent.
• At least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years focused on strategic, master, or space planning or programming.
• Architectural license in good standing within the home state, plus NCARB certification or the ability to obtain it.
• Experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction firm and successful cross-discipline project coordination.
• Ability to develop or guide complete construction document and specification packages for complex projects.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office, with strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of International Building Codes, OSHA Regulations, and ADA Standards.
• Experience with R&D laboratories, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and nutrition, or consumer products projects.
• LEED accreditation, WELL certification, or similar sustainability credentials.
• Client-focused leadership skills, mentoring experience, and flexibility for moderate project-based travel.
