Chemical Plant Operator (Coatings Manufacturing)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States. On-site, full-time schedule from Tuesday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What you will do

• Operate and control equipment used to process chemical substances into specified coating products.
• Read plant specifications, prepare ingredients, and regulate the feed of liquids, gases, and other materials through heating vessels, mixing tanks, hoppers, and conveyors.
• Set up and adjust process-control and analysis instruments.
• Monitor gauges, valves, controls, temperatures, pressures, flows, and chemical reactions within critical limits.
• Collect product samples, perform standard tests, and correlate results with laboratory analyses and instrument readings.
• Maintain production and equipment logs, inspect for leaks and hazards, and support other workers with process control or verification.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient mathematical and measurement abilities.
• Ability to use related computer software and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to traverse the operations facility, lift up to 50 pounds, and work with coating materials in a manufacturing environment requiring proper PPE.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
