What you will do
- Provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care in outpatient, inpatient, and surgical settings.
- Support the Thoracic Surgery team in collaboration with practice physicians.
- Document visits, use the electronic health record, order and review diagnostic studies, prescribe medications, and manage symptoms.
- Educate patients, families, staff, students, and the community while providing counseling and support.
- Perform appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and coordinate referrals with other healthcare providers.
- Participate in tumor boards, institutional training, meetings, clinical research, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Advanced Practice Provider qualification as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- For Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists: an accredited MSN and completed NP or CNS program, plus current RN and state licensure.
- For Physician Assistants: completion of an accredited PA program, current NCCPA certification, and current state PA license.
- Senior level requires a minimum of 6 years of experience.
- Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
- Surgical experience is preferred, particularly for support of the Thoracic Surgery team.
