Maintenance Planner

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; on-site full-time work in an operating industrial facility. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or otherwise legally entitled to work in Canada.

What you will do

• Plan scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the Edmonton Net Zero Hydrogen and Energy Complex.
• Screen, scope, and plan corrective, preventive, predictive, regulatory, and improvement work orders in SAP PM/CMMS.
• Develop complete work packages covering job plans, labor, materials, drawings, permits, procedures, vendor documentation, and safety requirements.
• Maintain the planned-maintenance backlog and support rolling four-week schedules, shutdowns, turnarounds, outages, and contractor execution.
• Coordinate with Operations, Warehouse, Supply Chain, contractors, and vendors on equipment availability, materials, services, and maintenance windows.
• Improve maintenance effectiveness through work-order reviews, root cause analysis, bad-actor reviews, reliability activities, commissioning, startup, and performance metrics.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus a journeyperson trade certification, engineering technology diploma, technical diploma, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience.
• Formal maintenance planning and scheduling training, SAP PM/CMMS training, or equivalent demonstrated capability.
• At least 15 years of maintenance planning, coordination, craft, supervision, reliability, or related industrial experience.
• Background in hazardous process industries such as hydrogen, industrial gases, petrochemical, refining, power generation, carbon capture, utilities, or related plant operations.
• Experience with SAP PM, Primavera P6 or equivalent planning tools, and contractor-heavy maintenance execution models.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. The role requires field walkdowns, PPE, ladder and step access, work at heights and around confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with greenfield commissioning, startup, asset data validation, or preventive-maintenance development.
• Experience with MS Project or equivalent planning tools.
