What you will do
- Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for salaried, hourly, exempt, and non-exempt employees across multiple states and payroll schedules.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage-and-hour laws, tax regulations, garnishments, and reporting requirements.
- Own payroll, tax, time and attendance, and integration systems, including configuration, audits, workflows, approvals, and security roles.
- Lead payroll implementations, acquisitions, system conversions, parallel testing, regulatory changes, and go-live activities.
- Manage payroll projects, process improvements, automation, documentation, risks, timelines, and deliverables.
- Manage, coach, and develop payroll staff while partnering with HR, Finance, Benefits, IT, vendors, and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, HR, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll.
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Ceridian, or UKG.
- Experience with payroll implementations, system configuration, compliance, and project management.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
Nice to have
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
- Experience supporting payroll for large or complex organizations.
