Payroll Specialist

Location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Four days per week are worked in the office, with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays.

What you will do

• Process accurate biweekly payroll using ADP, including taxes, adjustments, garnishments, deductions, and employee timesheets.
• Maintain payroll data for new hires, terminations, status changes, and compensation adjustments.
• Ensure federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance and prepare quarterly and year-end reports.
• Monitor HRIS data integrations, reconcile discrepancies, and support annual compensation and bonus cycles.
• Prepare payroll reports and maintain organized, audit-ready records for compliance reviews.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and collaborate on workflow improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of payroll or HR operations experience.
• Experience with payroll systems and electronic recordkeeping.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, independent working ability, and communication skills.
• Must be able to work from the Omaha, Nebraska office four days per week.

• Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
• Knowledge of general accounting practices and employee benefits.
• Experience with Deltek Vision.
• Payroll experience in a consulting or architecture/engineering firm.
