What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership for the payroll function, including long-term planning, scalability, and process improvement.
• Lead end-to-end payroll initiatives related to company acquisitions and technology integrations.
• Oversee payroll compliance and ensure accurate, timely payroll operations, audits, reconciliations, internal controls, and reporting.
• Partner with Human Resources and business leaders to resolve employee pay and related issues.
• Manage, mentor, and develop payroll team members while maintaining accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage external payroll vendor relationships and service levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years of progressive payroll experience, including 3–5 years of hands-on Workday experience.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience in payroll or a related function.
• Experience with hourly, salaried, commission, bonus, and equity-based compensation.
• Broad knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll, time reporting, systems, processes, regulations, and policies.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax filing regulations, advanced Microsoft Office skills, and specifically Excel.
