Sr. NPD Project Engineer

What you will do

• Lead assigned portions of new product design and realization projects, coordinating schedules, budgets, resources, and Stage Gate requirements.
• Develop prototypes and assemblies, create test plans, coordinate internal and external testing, and review test data against requirements.
• Perform engineering analysis, including design feasibility assessment in mechanical, thermal, and multiphysics environments.
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting for new and existing products and processes.
• Collaborate with purchasing, vendors, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and customer representatives on product requirements and component selection.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, maintain CAD databases and libraries, and provide direction to Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or product development.
• Experience with 3D parametric modeling, finite element modeling, mechanism design, linkages, springs, statics, dynamics, and material properties.
• Familiarity with casting, machining, molding, stamping, and forming manufacturing methods, as well as new product development Stage Gate processes.
• Experience with DFMEA, DOE, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation, interpret technical standards, communicate across organizational levels, use Microsoft Office, and operate small hand and power tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with ProE/Creo and finite element analysis.
• Experience with medium- or high-voltage electrical power systems.
• Experience designing trip-free, stored-energy, or actuated mechanisms.
• Creativity, innovation, initiative, and a willingness to learn new methodologies.
