Hirify AI/Оригинал
TL;DR
Electrical Engineer, Rack Power Distribution (AI/GPU): Designing and validating end-to-end rack power distribution for 50–130+ kW AI/GPU and HPC racks with an accent on busbars, power shelves, redundancy, load analysis, and facility integration. Focus on solving failure-mode loading, thermal and voltage-drop challenges, commissioning power systems, and integrating rack monitoring with DCIM.
Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; onsite role with extended hours and weekends as necessary.
Base salary: $170,000–$250,000 annually.
Company
hirify.global is building uranium enrichment facilities and high-density computing infrastructure to restore U.S. nuclear fuel production.
What you will do
Own rack power architecture from facility tap-off or RPP through PDUs, in-rack busbars, power shelves, and server PSUs.
Define 50–130+ kW rack topologies for AI/GPU and HPC deployments, including 48V/54V OCP ORv3 busbars and liquid-cooled configurations.
Select rack power equipment, produce rack elevations and load schedules, calculate phase balance, and analyze inrush, hold-up time, breaker coordination, voltage drop, and thermal loading.
Set A/B feed, PSU N+1, and N+N redundancy strategies; size branch circuits, tap-offs, and RPP circuits; and define derating and power-capping strategies.
Coordinate with OEMs, ODMs, vendors, facility electrical, cooling, controls, and IT hardware teams on design reviews and interface issues.
Lead lab testing, factory integration, onsite commissioning, root-cause analysis, DCIM monitoring integration, formal engineering review, configuration management, and change control.
Requirements
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
5+ years of electrical design experience, including at least 3 years designing rack- and server-level power distribution for data center or hyperscale deployments.
Direct hands-on design experience with rack PDUs, in-rack busbars, power shelves, or server power delivery; facility-level MEP-only experience is insufficient.
Strong command of A/B redundancy, phase balancing, branch circuit sizing, inrush, and PSU redundancy behavior.
Experience taking rack power designs through testing, integration, or commissioning.
Ability to produce rack elevations, load schedules, and one-line diagrams using AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, or similar tools.
Must be a U.S. person for export-control purposes and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
Nice to have
Experience with high-density AI/GPU platforms such as NVIDIA GB200/GB300 NVL72, MGX, or comparable systems.
Experience with OCP Open Rack ORv3, 48V/54V busbars, BBU systems, or higher-voltage DC rack architectures.
Liquid-cooled rack integration experience, including CDU and manifold coordination.
Background with a hyperscaler hardware team, AI rack integrator, ODM, or rack PDU or power shelf manufacturer.
Familiarity with facility-side distribution and ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
Professional Engineer license.
Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, pharma, or another regulated industry with formal design control or QA programs.
Culture & Benefits
Fast-paced, high-intensity Skunkworks-style projects with a culture of urgency, accountability, and transparency.
Full-time employment with potential stock options and medical, vision, and dental coverage.
Access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
Extended hours and weekend work may be required as necessary.
