Architect III - West Region (Life Sciences)

Location: Emeryville, California, USA; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: USD 90,000–130,000 per year

What you will do

• Independently execute small architectural projects through programming, planning, conceptual design, detailed design, and construction administration.
• Support larger renovation and new-construction projects within integrated, multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop Revit and BIM models, construction documents, code analyses, life-safety and egress plans, drawings, details, schedules, reports, and presentations.
• Research and apply International Building Code and other regulatory requirements throughout project delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and construction partners to deliver constructible and well-documented designs.
• Participate in design reviews and quality checks while mentoring Architectural Interns and Design staff; serve as Architect of Record for assigned small projects when required.

Requirements

• Licensed Architect in good standing within the home state, with eligibility for reciprocal licensure through NCARB.
• At least seven years of professional experience in an architectural or AEC firm environment.
• Accredited professional degree in Architecture, such as B.Arch, M.Arch, or D.Arch, or a Canadian or international equivalent.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office; experience with BIM and 3D modeling tools.
• Knowledge of International Building Code, OSHA regulations, and ADA standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and external partners and travel moderately for project or training needs.

Nice to have

• NCARB Certification.
• Experience with Enscape, Rhino, or other 3D modeling and visualization tools.
• LEED Accreditation, WELL Certification, or similar sustainability credentials.
• Experience with R&D laboratories, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and nutrition, or consumer products facilities.
