TL;DR
Material Handler - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing): Controlling, storing, and issuing materials for production lines while supporting shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and finished-goods packaging with an accent on forklift operations, MRP transactions, FIFO, and production readiness. Focus on maintaining material availability, reducing process variation and waste, supporting continuous improvement, and coordinating across shifts in a manufacturing environment.

Location: Faribault, Minnesota, United States; onsite, full-time, 2nd shift Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

Hourly rate: $19.00-$21.00 per hour, plus a $1.00/hour shift premium.

What you will do

  • Track, store, issue, and stage materials for production and packaging operations.
  • Maintain inventory of production materials, finished goods, and packaging materials, including FIFO, cycle counts, and electronic inventory transactions.
  • Support receiving and shipping by warehousing incoming items, preparing outgoing products, and verifying packaging, tagging, and shipment information.
  • Use production schedules and MRP systems to support efficient line setup, material placement, and on-time delivery.
  • Follow and help develop work instructions, train and certify team members, and create visual process tools.
  • Generate and implement ideas that improve yield, safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and process efficiency.

Requirements

  • Maintain a Tru Vue forklift operation license and have at least one year of forklift experience with a good driving record.
  • Learn and perform electronic inventory transactions, production paperwork, and documented work procedures accurately.
  • Organize, prioritize, and plan material availability to meet production needs and minimize downtime.
  • Use basic Windows-based computer tools; familiarity with electronic inventory systems and barcode processes is required or beneficial.
  • Work effectively in a cross-functional, multicultural team and learn related production functions.
  • Work safely in a loud production environment with moving mechanical parts, vibration, electrical-shock risk, and varying temperatures.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma quality systems.
  • Computer data-entry and previous barcode experience.
