Application Engineer, Industrial Heating

Location: Aachen or Overath, Germany, with a hybrid working model. Travel of up to 30% is required.

What you will do

• Act as the technical subject matter expert for industrial heat pump applications and related services, including factory acceptance testing and field commissioning.
• Support Sales with customer enquiries, meetings, technical discussions, application concepts, and commercial proposals.
• Analyze customer requirements and design effective industrial heating solutions and preliminary system concepts.
• Coordinate with compressor and controls R&D, New Product Development, suppliers, solution architects, and project teams.
• Monitor industrial heat pump technologies and competitive solutions and provide market insights to leadership.
• Represent the organization at industry events, technical conferences, workshops, and customer meetings while building consultative customer relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred; approximately 2 years may be considered with strong technical and customer-facing experience.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, refrigeration systems, and heat pump technologies.
• Experience supporting customer applications and providing technical recommendations, with commercial awareness.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project coordination, communication, and independent working skills.
• Fluent English is required, and applicants must be legally authorized to work in Germany; visa sponsorship or work authorization will not be provided.

Nice to have

• Specialization in Mechanical Engineering, Thermodynamics, Refrigeration, or a related discipline.
• Experience with industrial refrigeration and industrial heat pump applications.
• Technical sales or customer-facing engineering experience.
• Additional European language skills.
• Experience with industrial heating, energy efficiency, or thermal management projects.
