Thermal Analysis Engineer (Spacecraft)

Location: Munich, Germany; Bordeaux, France; or Turin, Italy

Developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable orbital spacecraft designed to carry cargo and potentially humans.

What you will do

• Generate thermal and fluid models at the appropriate level of complexity for each study.
• Determine thermal load cases throughout the spacecraft system lifecycle and provide solutions to optimize thermal management and vehicle design.
• Collaborate with mechanical, CAD, avionics, mechanisms, and supplier teams during co-engineering and design optimization activities.
• Support test campaign preparation, including test plan definition, simulation comparison, and correlation.
• Improve thermal analysis tools and contribute to requirements validation and verification.
• Prepare technical documentation, communicate analysis results and recommendations, and participate in design reviews.

Requirements

• Master of Science or PhD in aerospace engineering, heat transfer and fluid mechanics, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in thermal analysis.
• Good knowledge of active and passive thermal control systems and deep knowledge of thermal and fluid analysis.
• Experience with several thermal software tools, including Thermal Desktop, ESATAN, and Systema.
• Experience with programming, such as Python or Matlab.
• Fluent English.
• Strong oral and written communication, analysis, problem-solving, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Positive and flexible attitude, with behaviors consistent with the values of Vision, Competence, Integrity, and Passion.

Nice to have

• Experience with CFD analysis.
• German, French, or Italian language skills.
