Aeronautical Production Specialist (Geospatial Intelligence)

What you will do

• Extract, analyze, validate, and maintain Airfield Foundation Data from imagery and other geospatial sources.
• Collect and update features such as runways, taxiways, navigational aids, air traffic control towers, hangars, and related aviation infrastructure.
• Perform data acquisition, evaluation, entry, maintenance, mensuration, and geospatial positioning activities.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews against NGA standards and accuracy requirements.
• Support product finishing, database updates, technical documentation, and production workflow improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies and deliver accurate products on schedule.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Active CI Polygraph at hire, or willingness and eligibility to obtain and maintain one.
• 1–3 years of experience with geospatial feature collection, validation, and finishing for points, lines, and polygons.
• Experience with imagery analysis and mensuration, plus basic knowledge of airfield infrastructure.
• Ability to understand, update, and develop technical documentation; strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of coordinate systems, elevation models, positional accuracy standards, imagery sources, geospatial products, and sensor capabilities.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and writing XML.
• Familiarity with NGA production workflows, specifications, and quality standards.
• Experience with GIS, imagery exploitation, or geospatial production tools.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Intelligence, GIS, Remote Sensing, Aviation, or a related field.
