Senior Geologist (Dam Safety)

Location: Generally based in CONUS—Denver, Colorado, and across the Western United States; the initially identified work site is PO Box 25007, Denver, Colorado. The work site is subject to change or may involve remote work.

What you will do

• Provide geological analysis of dam sites and construction materials.
• Develop training content on rock and soil properties, abutment conditions, karst features, and seepage pathways.
• Support field exercises that identify geological indicators of dam distress and performance issues.
• Teach operators to recognize materials, defects, site conditions, and geologic features relevant to dam safety.
• Prepare site-specific appendices and laminated geological feature identification sheets.
• Coordinate with the geotechnical subject-matter expert to integrate geological observations into potential failure modes.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• An active Secret clearance with eligibility for Interim TS/SCI or a full TS/SCI clearance is required at proposal submission and throughout the contract.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology required; professional geologist licensure preferred and a master’s degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of applied geology experience in dams or water infrastructure.
• Experience with geologic mapping and defect identification at dams.
• Skills in field mapping, basic petrography, photographic documentation, GIS, instruction, clear documentation, and analytical work.
