Project Engineer - Water Resources

What you will do

• Plan and design stormwater and water resources engineering projects for public- and private-sector clients.
• Perform hydrology, hydraulics, floodplain analyses, watershed modeling, and stormwater engineering.
• Support community improvements, infrastructure resiliency, environmental compliance, and permitting.
• Apply H&H software such as BMP Trains, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HSPF, ICPR, MODRET, StormCAD, StormWise, and SWMM.
• Mentor and lead junior engineers in technical and non-technical aspects of stormwater engineering.
• Prepare and guide construction plans, planning studies, designs, and construction documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering field.
• At least 4 years of experience in stormwater or water resources engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Florida, or the ability to obtain Florida licensure within 1 year of starting.
• At least 3 years of experience mentoring and leading junior engineers in stormwater engineering.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; business-related travel using a company or personal vehicle is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of environmental resource and civil site permitting.
• Experience delivering water resources and civil engineering planning studies, designs, and construction documents.
• Experience providing engineering services in Manatee and Sarasota Counties and surrounding counties.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS.
