Oncology Safety Nurse

Compensation: $31.85–$64.75 per hour

What you will do

• Review chemotherapy orders before administration for completeness and accuracy.
• Verify that treatment regimens align with accepted medical practice and peer-reviewed safety and efficacy evidence.
• Review initial orders, clinical information, and treatment plans.
• Confirm body surface area calculations using patient height and weight.
• Assess medication-use processes and recommend improvements.
• Provide practice-wide guidance on chemotherapy safety issues.

Requirements

• At least five years of oncology-related nursing experience.
• Registered Nurse qualification from an accredited professional nursing program.
• Current RN state license.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Oncology Certified Nurse certification, or commitment to obtain OCN status within one year of hire.
• BSN preferred.
