Special Projects Technician 1 (HVAC)

Location: Mt. Crawford, Virginia, United States; full-time work at the RBI headquarters and customer job sites.

Salary: $20.00–$30.50 per hour or $41,600–$63,440 per year.

What you will do

• Assist with the installation, startup, and commissioning of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
• Install manual dampers, supporting hardware, flex and sheet-metal ductwork, and associated fittings.
• Install and braze or solder copper refrigerant lines for air-conditioning units, including split systems and rooftop units up to 20 tons.
• Assist with low- and line-voltage wiring and ensure proper gas-line connections to heating equipment.
• Pre-measure jobs, identify required materials, and complete installation documentation accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with team members and other departments to meet project deadlines and specifications while following safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school or trade school graduation, or GED.
• Universal Refrigerant certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet the company driver qualification policy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, climb ladders and scaffolding, and perform physically demanding work in tight spaces.
• Effective communication with employees and customers.

• Previous HVAC installation experience.
