HVAC Installation and Service Apprentice (HVAC)

Location: Roanoke, VA, United States; onsite

Salary: $17–$24 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Learn to install HVAC equipment and ductwork.
• Learn and apply HVAC, plumbing, and electrical fundamentals.
• Maintain and troubleshoot commercial HVAC equipment, including split systems, rooftop units, heat pumps, and DX systems.
• Test and replace parts using appropriate instruments.
• Perform preventative maintenance for commercial customers while maintaining a strong customer service focus.
• Follow safety procedures and complete additional assigned tasks.

Requirements

• High mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work full time, including 10-hour days, overtime when necessary, and on-call shifts.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in extreme heat, cold, and bad weather.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the day, lift and carry up to 60 pounds, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record check and work in a drug-free workplace.
• Punctuality, reliability, and willingness to learn are required.

Nice to have

• HVAC trade school education.
• Commercial HVAC experience.
