BSN Instructor - OBGyn or Peds Specialty - Per Diem (Nursing Education)

Location: Campus-based in Sacramento, California, USA

Salary: USD 63–74 per hour. The stated pay range elsewhere is USD 55.00 minimum, USD 62.50 midpoint, and USD 72.00 maximum.

What you will do

• Teach and supervise nursing students in classroom and clinical settings, focusing on obstetrics.
• Develop, administer, and grade course materials and examinations in collaboration with faculty.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate attendance, grade, and clinical-skills records.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement, program assessment, faculty meetings, committees, and student advising.
• Orient and mentor new faculty in theory and clinical instruction using adult learning principles and technology.
• Coordinate clinical assignments, submit required reports, and maintain current nursing, technology, and safety knowledge.

Requirements

• Active nursing license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
• Master of Nursing or a higher degree from an accredited college or university, including coursework in nursing or education, administration, obstetrics, pediatrics, or psychiatry.
• At least four years of registered nursing experience providing direct patient care.
• At least one year of clinical experience within the last five years; clinical teaching counts toward direct patient care.
• Clinical competence as defined in CCR Section 1420(c) and expertise in psychiatry, geriatrics, medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, or obstetrics/gynecology.
• Prior teaching experience is not required.
