What you will do

• Own the AI/ML engineering strategy and roadmap, translating business objectives into technical priorities.
• Lead and scale teams of ML engineers, data scientists, and infrastructure specialists through hiring, development, and technical delivery.
• Partner with executive leadership on AI capability definition, feasibility assessments, resourcing plans, and business cases.
• Set architecture decisions and technical standards for ML systems, including model governance, data pipelines, MLOps infrastructure, and deployment frameworks.
• Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to integrate AI initiatives with broader engineering and business operations.
• Establish metrics for ML performance, reliability, and business value while promoting engineering excellence, testing, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in ML engineering, data science, or AI-focused roles, including at least 5 years in leadership positions.
• Demonstrated success shipping ML models and systems to production at scale and delivering business value.
• Deep technical fluency in machine learning fundamentals, model development, training infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and retaining strong technical talent.
• Ability to translate technical constraints and trade-offs for non-technical stakeholders and connect business objectives with engineering decisions.
• Experience with hybrid or fully remote work, or openness to hybrid work in the Vancouver area.
