Sr Associate Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; flexible work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field.

Base salary: CAD 100,000–150,000 per year, plus potential bonus, commission, and annual stock grants.

What you will do

• Build AI agents that integrate with HR and Finance workflows to support intelligent decision-making.
• Implement AI tools, frameworks, and platforms for scalable, efficient, compliant solutions.
• Design agent workflows using LLMs, RAG, autonomous agents, and orchestration frameworks.
• Apply the machine learning lifecycle from problem definition and data acquisition through production evaluation.
• Collaborate with software engineers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, product teams, vendors, and cloud providers.
• Establish monitoring, feedback loops, and continuous learning mechanisms to improve agent performance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and operating applied machine learning products at scale.
• 2+ years of professional experience with Python, Java, C++, or similar technologies, including production code and models.
• 1+ year of experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
• 1+ year of experience deploying machine learning model services at scale using cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• 1+ year of experience with large language models, text generation models, or graph neural networks.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or an equivalent field; a Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, supervised and unsupervised learning, natural language processing, information retrieval, or recommendation systems.
• Experience independently solving ambiguous problems and technically leading teams.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or managing machine learning engineering teams.
