Focus on managing medical office reception, maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA requirements, and coordinating appointments and messages in a fast-paced care environment.

Location: Onsite at the medical oncology clinic in Lakeway, Texas; listed conditions location is Austin, Texas. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

What you will do

  • Greet patients, visitors, and family members and check patients in for appointments.
  • Provide, review, collect, and file patient forms while updating demographic and insurance information.
  • Collect co-pays and outstanding balances, issue receipts, and complete patient checkout.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and document appointments, cancellations, and missed visits.
  • Answer and route calls, relay accurate messages, and coordinate communication with clinical staff.
  • Maintain patient records, forms, supplies, and an orderly clinic lobby while following confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
  • For Level 2: at least 18 months of front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
  • For the Senior level: at least 5 years of front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
  • Successful completion of required e-learning courses within 90 days of starting the position.
  • Ability to work onsite in the clinic, interact frequently with patients and staff, and occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Receptionist or office experience for Level 1.
  • Knowledge of the practice’s personnel, daily routines, and scheduling procedures.
