Director, Commercial Real Estate Origination (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Onsite in Addison, Texas, or Montpelier, Vermont, with office attendance four days per week on Monday through Thursday.

Salary: $108,750–$159,500 USD per year.

What you will do

• Build a pipeline of institutional-quality commercial real estate investment opportunities.
• Develop relationships with sponsors, brokers, and mortgage bankers, including through market travel, conferences, and site visits.
• Originate, structure, underwrite, and close commercial mortgage loans typically ranging from $15 million to $60 million.
• Evaluate stabilized, transitional, bridge, and construction loans, including business plans, lease-up risk, capital expenditures, exit strategies, cash flows, markets, and sponsors.
• Prepare investment memoranda, present transactions to credit committees, and negotiate pricing, covenants, loan terms, and legal documentation.
• Partner with portfolio management and asset management on diversification, performance, market strategy, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field, with 6–8 years of related experience.
• At least six years of commercial real estate lending experience with a demonstrated origination track record.
• Experience underwriting stabilized, transitional or bridge, and construction loans.
• Strong knowledge of credit underwriting, real estate fundamentals, loan structuring, and financial modeling.
• Established network of sponsors, brokers, and mortgage bankers, plus strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• MBA in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
• At least eight years of progressive commercial real estate lending and origination experience.
• Experience with ARGUS CRE Valuation software.
