Workday Platform & Governance Owner - Workday SME (Workday)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week at a Guardian office in New York, NY, Holmdel, NJ, or Stanford, CT. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $152,290.00–$250,195.00 base pay, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Serve as the senior technical subject matter expert across Workday HCM, Position Management, Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Learning, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Security, and Integrations.
• Configure complex cross-domain business processes, eligibility rules, condition logic, calculated fields, compensation cycles, and Position Management structures.
• Design and maintain advanced Workday security groups, domain policies, access governance, and segregation-of-duties controls.
• Oversee Production, Sandbox, Development, and Preview tenants, including refresh schedules, release previews, access governance, and emergency changes.
• Enforce Dev–Test–Prod migration controls, approve production configuration migrations, and remediate technical debt.
• Chair the Workday Change Advisory Board, review cross-module impacts, validate testing documentation, and maintain change-control records.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of HRIS experience and 5+ years of advanced hands-on Workday configuration.
• Workday Pro Certifications and deep expertise across major Workday modules.
• Strong Position Management and Job Management experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining Workday security architecture, including SOD and audit controls.
• Experience operating within a multi-tenant governance model and managing production change control.
• Must work three days per week from a Guardian office in New York, Holmdel, or Stanford and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
