What you will do

• Provide high-quality patient care and maintain a professional doctor’s office and pre-test room.
• Explain preliminary examinations and perform patient pre-screening and testing before the doctor’s examination.
• Complete required paperwork and carefully review prescriptions and patient information.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings for eligible patients.
• Identify special patient needs and consult with the optician, doctor, or retail management when necessary.
• Maintain doctor and pre-test equipment and ensure it is functioning properly.

Requirements

• Fluent reading and speaking of English and Spanish.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge, understand ocular terminology and diseases, and recognize ocular abbreviations.
• Ability to give customers clear and concise instructions.
• Detail-oriented approach and a professional attitude and appearance.

Nice to have

• Previous retail or optical experience.
