Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant - Bilingual (Optical Retail)

Salary: USD 15.75–18.33 per hour

What you will do

• Conduct patient pre-screenings, preliminary examinations, and vision tests before the optometrist's examination.
• Complete patient paperwork and carefully review prescriptions and patient information.
• Explain preliminary examinations and provide clear instructions to patients.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings for eligible patients.
• Identify special patient needs and consult with the optician, doctor, or retail management when needed.
• Maintain a professional pretest room and ensure doctor and pretest equipment is properly maintained.

Requirements

• Fluent English and Spanish reading and speaking skills required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn optical terminology, knowledge, and procedures.
• Clear and concise communication with customers.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
