Senior Mechanical Engineer (Product Development)

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; onsite, full-time

A structural products and engineering services organization developing solutions for safer and stronger homes and buildings, with a Vietnam subsidiary providing construction, mechanical engineering, and software services.

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical product concepts and prototypes for concrete anchors, structural connectors, fasteners, test devices, and safety systems.
• Lead the R&D lifecycle through feasibility studies, 3D modeling, engineering calculations, FEA, design iterations, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure product compliance with European and US standards, including ETA/EAD, Eurocodes, ASME, ASTM, and AWS.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, test planning, experimental data analysis, validation, and technical reporting.
• Perform structural calculations, competitor benchmarking, and engineering analysis of load capacity, durability, reliability, and failure modes.
• Review designs, share technical knowledge, mentor fresher engineers, and represent engineering perspectives to international stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, with at least two years of proven experience in mechanical design, material proposal, and approval.
• Experience or coursework in CAD modeling; Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar software is preferred.
• Knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment, surface treatment, steel grades, material test reports, and Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills, organization, diligence, responsibility, creativity, and interest in engineering, structural design, or research.
• English proficiency at CEFR B2 or above is required, equivalent to TOEIC 700 or IELTS 6.0.

Nice to have

• Experience with thread rolling for anchors and fasteners or progressive-die stamping for sheet-metal connectors.
• Programming or CAD automation experience with Python, iLogic, VBA, C, or C++.
• German or French language skills.
