Staff Engineer - Validation (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Create and develop validation and test plans for chip-level silicon validation and characterization of internal IPs.
• Build Python-based bench automation for automatic data collection using standard equipment and customized toolsets.
• Set up tests, debug failures, analyze data, and prepare silicon test reports.
• Work with IP design teams on test specifications, new chip features, definitions, and bring-up.
• Provide IP debugging support to SoC teams and training for internal FAEs.
• Develop technical collateral, including application notes, user guides, and data sheets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of industry experience.
• Fundamental knowledge of analog and digital circuits and data communication systems.
• Experience or knowledge in semiconductor chip lab testing, measurement, test script development, and electronic test equipment.
• Knowledge of Python is required; experience with C++ is relevant, while MATLAB and Excel VBA are additional skills.
• Good communication skills in English are required; applicants must also be eligible for access to export-controlled technology under applicable U.S. regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with SerDes technologies such as PCI Express, Ethernet, USB, SATA, SAS, CPRI, or JESD.
• Hardware validation, hardware-software integration, and networking system test-plan experience.
• Knowledge of high-frequency lab instruments such as DSO, SSA, and VNA.
