Insurance Specialist II

Location: Onsite in Richardson, Texas, at 3001 E. President George Bush Highway, Suite 100. Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What you will do

• Monitor delinquent accounts and perform patient and payer collection activities.
• Review reports, investigate account issues, and resolve billing and insurance payment errors.
• Review payment postings, update account statuses, and maintain accurate account balances.
• Contact patients to secure past-due balances, verify demographics and insurance information, and document conversations.
• Answer patient questions about payments, billing, and insurance and resolve complaints.
• Maintain patient and payer credit balances and ensure timely refunds in accordance with government guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of combined medical billing and payment experience; Level II requires at least four years.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processing and collection guidelines.
• For the senior level: at least two years of insurance resolution experience, four years of combined medical billing and payment experience, and knowledge of oncology medical coding.
• For the senior level: proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Completion of required e-learning courses within 90 days of starting the position.
