TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Electrical Controls): Designing electrical control systems and equipment for engineered-to-order and configure-to-order HVACR applications with an accent on control circuits, motor controls, schematics, and panel layouts. Focus on supporting PLC controls, managing customer electrical projects, interpreting electrical and piping drawings, and ensuring compliance with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL 508A.

Location: Cudahy, Wisconsin, United States; onsite, full-time

What you will do

  • Provide technical support for Vilter's PLC controls platform.
  • Manage customer electrical equipment projects and deliver project objectives.
  • Design control circuits, size conductors and overcurrent protection, and select electrical components.
  • Create schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN.
  • Support electrical system improvements and standards, and collaborate with internal teams, vendors, contractors, and customers.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues, provide product training, and interpret electrical schematics and piping and instrumentation drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in electrical controls and design.
  • Strong understanding of electrical controls and logic, power and motor control circuits, motors, motor starters, and VFDs.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN engineering tools.
  • Strong ability to interpret electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation drawings, NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL 508A.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Electrical field experience in troubleshooting or installation.
  • PLC programming experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Up to 8 years of electrical controls and design experience.
