Sr Director, Applications Engineering (Semiconductor)

Location: Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea; full-time onsite role

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multi-layer Applications Engineering organization, including managers and technical leaders.
• Build executive-level relationships with strategic semiconductor customers and influence technology roadmaps, business decisions, and long-term partnerships.
• Act as the primary liaison between global headquarters and strategic customers for technical engagements, new product introductions, and critical customer programs.
• Define and execute the Korea Applications Engineering strategy in alignment with global business objectives.
• Drive operational excellence across probe design win rates, FA cycle time, PCIF First Time Right metrics, and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with Sales and Design Engineering on account strategy, product roadmap planning, NPI, technology reviews, and post-PCIF handoffs.

Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in Applications Engineering, semiconductor test engineering, or highly technical customer-facing leadership roles.
• 10+ years leading technical engagements with major global semiconductor manufacturers and strategic accounts.
• Deep expertise in probe cards, wafer probing, semiconductor test applications, high-speed board-level circuit design, Signal Integrity, and Power Integrity.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and wafer thermal behavior as it affects probing performance.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams in a matrixed organization and developing high-performing technical organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 12+ years, or a PhD with 10 years, or equivalent experience.
