Vice President, Asset-Backed Finance

Location: New York, NY; Dallas, TX; or Chicago, IL. Hybrid work structure with in-office collaboration Monday through Thursday and the option to work remotely or from the office on Fridays.

Salary: $250,000 annually, plus eligibility for bonus pay.

What you will do

• Lead project teams delivering valuation and financial advisory services for mortgage whole loans, student loans, consumer loans, RMBS, CMBS, CLO, ABS, and other structured finance securities.
• Determine valuation methodologies and review financial models for complex and illiquid investments.
• Provide quality control oversight across client engagements.
• Manage, train, and develop associates and analysts.
• Build relationships with potential clients and identify new engagements.
• Prepare business proposals and engagement letters and act as a primary client contact.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in business valuations, complex and illiquid securities valuation, structuring, trading, or whole-loan modeling.
• Understanding of collateral risk characteristics, deal structures, terms, conditions, and credit markets.
• Experience with Bloomberg, Intex, and financial modeling for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing analyses.
• Ability to develop valuation approaches for equity and debt securities, loans, derivatives, structured products, and intangible assets.
• Experience managing associates and analysts, leading client meetings, and handling multiple engagements.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics, or an MBA; strong academic record required.

Nice to have

• Prior investment banking or transaction experience.
• Active CPA, ASA, or CFA certification.
• Knowledge of authoritative valuation guidance, ASC 820, IFRS 13, industry best practices, and emerging issues.
