Vice President, Asset Backed Finance (IG) (Asset Backed Finance)

Location: New York, United States

Base salary: $225,000–$275,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus incentives.

What you will do

• Structure investment-grade asset-backed finance investments and coordinate objectives across originators, insurance clients, rating agencies, and capital providers.
• Evaluate opportunities for rating suitability, negotiate transaction terms, and support the investment process from sourcing through realization.
• Work with rating agencies and financing counterparties on rated warehouse facilities and term-out structures for contractual cash-flowing asset pools.
• Develop capital-efficient solutions for insurance-company balance sheets, considering NAIC and equivalent non-US and EU insurance-capital frameworks.
• Lead or participate in diligence, documentation, modeling, and preparation of investment memoranda for the ABF investment committee.
• Train and supervise associates and analysts and educate the investment team on rating and structuring techniques.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in asset finance or structuring at an investment bank, or investing across securitized collateral types at an investment manager.
• Strong knowledge of fixed-income fundamentals, asset-backed finance, and securitization.
• Experience executing private asset-backed investments, working with rating agencies, and leading processes to rate ABS or other asset-backed investments.
• Experience reviewing financial agreements, building financial models, and using Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with insurance companies, insurance capital, NAIC requirements, or equivalent US and EU insurance-capital frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree from a top university.

Nice to have

• Experience with CFO rating methodologies, rated feeders, NAV and ABL financing.
• Experience with rated warehouse facilities.
