Underwriter, Political Risk

Location: Singapore; primarily office-based

Global commercial and personal insurance provider operating a geographically diverse property and casualty network through Talbot and Lloyd’s Syndicate 1183.

What you will do

• Underwrite political risk exposures in line with underwriting philosophy and delegated authority limits.
• Support the Political Risk Class Underwriter, Senior Class Underwriter, Global Practice Leader, and Head of Division with strategy and business plans.
• Assist with management of the overall political risk portfolio.
• Build and maintain relationships with wholesale, local, and international brokers.
• Develop direct client relationships when needed to support local business teams.
• Operate in accordance with regulatory standards and principles.

Requirements

• Essential experience in the Lloyd’s market as an underwriter or broker.
• Strong knowledge of political risk and structured credit products, including pricing and policy wordings.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently with limited guidance.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and relationship management.
• Assertive, positive, and proactive approach.

Nice to have

• Relevant insurance industry experience.
• Passed Chartered Financial Analyst Level 1.
