Patient Services Representative (Float) (Oncology)

What you will do

• Provide front-office support across patient check-in, appointment scheduling, referrals, new patient registration, and medical records.
• Answer incoming calls, assess patient needs, and direct callers to the appropriate personnel.
• Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations and referrals, collect payments, and advise patients about financial obligations.
• Process claims, review explanations of benefits, reconcile account activity, and resolve billing and payment issues.
• Maintain physician scheduling templates and coordinate testing, procedures, surgeries, admissions, and follow-up appointments as needed.
• Help patients and families access community resources such as housing, transportation, medications, and financial support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two to three years of medical business office experience required.
• Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Ability to protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
• Ability to sit regularly, occasionally stand and walk, and lift or move up to 30 pounds.
