TL;DR
Manufacturing Technician (Galway) (Medical Devices): Supporting day-to-day production of innovative medical devices with an accent on equipment setup and maintenance, troubleshooting, process improvement, and GMP documentation. Focus on reducing production downtime, validating equipment and processes, conducting root cause analysis, and maintaining compliance with ISO 13485, FDA requirements, and EU MDR.

Location: Galway, Ireland; on-site, full-time

Annual salary: €37,100–€50,300, with potential discretionary annual bonus and other incentive-plan eligibility.

What you will do

  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing line and respond to stoppages or production anomalies.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, process, and material issues to reduce downtime.
  • Set up and operate manufacturing equipment and perform routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Improve processes, tools, jigs, and methods using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement approaches.
  • Support process development, equipment and product verification, validation testing, inspections, and non-conformance investigations.
  • Maintain batch records, logs, maintenance records, technical documentation, and quality system documentation while collaborating on validations, product transfers, training, and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience operating and maintaining production equipment and supporting process improvements.
  • Working knowledge of QMS and regulatory requirements for medical device manufacturing, including ISO 13485, EU MDR, and FDA requirements.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom manufacturing processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, process diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong communication, organisational, teamwork, ownership, and documentation skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
