Manufacturing Engineer II (Medical Technology)

Location: Galway, County Galway, Ireland

Salary: €49,920–€74,880 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan short-term incentive.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, procedures, production layouts, and material-handling methods.
• Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, fixtures, product assemblies, and electromechanical systems used in production.
• Improve machine, workstation, and production-flow arrangements to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Define safe, repeatable sequences of operations and manufacturing procedures, including inspection and test requirements.
• Investigate equipment, process, and product performance issues and implement corrective actions for quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Support process, tooling, and equipment qualification, validation, and transfer into production while partnering with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field with at least 2 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience, or a master’s degree with 0+ years of experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, tools, fixtures, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Ability to analyze process issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and manage multiple priorities with limited day-to-day oversight.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, process development, production support, engineering documentation, manufacturing instructions, and change-control processes.
• Experience in low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments, preferably involving capital equipment.
• Ability to ensure manufacturing processes, documentation, and practices comply with quality-system and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with motors, sensors, mechanical-system integration, design transfer, or production implementation.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, inspection methods, test processes, process validation, and regulated manufacturing practices.
