TL;DR
VAT Manager (UK/EU Indirect Tax): Providing VAT advice and shaping the Group’s VAT framework across more than 80 legal entities with an accent on UK/EU VAT, cross-border transactions, controls, and compliance. Focus on identifying indirect tax risks, improving finance systems and reporting processes, supporting HMRC enquiries, and mentoring junior team members.

What you will do
- Provide practical VAT advice to operational and finance stakeholders across the organisation.
- Support business initiatives, projects, transactions, and new offerings by assessing VAT treatment.
- Review and strengthen VAT controls, processes, documentation, and reporting workflows.
- Identify finance system and process improvement opportunities and contribute to related changes.
- Support HMRC enquiries, information requests, audits, VAT return reviews, and compliance activities.
- Deliver VAT training to non-tax teams and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of hands-on UK VAT experience in practice or industry.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of UK VAT legislation, VAT accounting, and reporting requirements.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, ATT, or an HMRC VAT-trained equivalent.
- Experience with finance system changes, process improvement projects, transactions, or cross-functional advisory work.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organisational, and attention-to-detail skills.
