Accounting & Compliance Analyst (Costa Rica)

Location: Lagunilla de Heredia, Costa Rica; hybrid work with at least two days per week in a hirify.global office

What you will do

• Deliver financial analyses, reconciliations, regulatory reports, and actionable insights for Costa Rica operations.
• Identify and communicate business trends, risks, opportunities, and material financial variances.
• Support audits, taxation, forecasting, month-end close, payroll-related matters, and internal controls.
• Manage monthly and annual tax filings, statutory books, PROCOMER Canon Reporting, and the Annual Operating Report for PROCOMER.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Auxiliary and complete accurate bank reconciliations.
• Oversee customs processes and imports through TICA, partnering with Procurement, Legal, and Strategy on Free Trade Zone matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least four years of accounting or finance experience, including financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, compliance, or related operational processes.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican financial regulations, Free Trade Zone requirements, and PROCOMER obligations.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Experience with TICA, account reconciliations, fixed-asset accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• CPI certification or a Certified Public Accountant license in Costa Rica.
• Experience with BlackLine or a similar account-reconciliation platform.
• Experience with costing, customs, and Free Trade Zone operations in a medium or large company.
• Experience improving financial processes and implementing operational best practices.
