Shipping & Receiving Specialist

Location: Kent, Washington, United States; onsite, 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Salary: $20.50–$29.83 per hour, with possible overtime, shift differential, call-in, and standby pay.

What you will do

• Handle the receipt, unloading, verification, storage, staging, and shipment of materials, supplies, equipment, and finished printed products.
• Pack goods according to customer specifications, prepare bills of lading, record weights and shipping charges, and attach shipping instructions.
• Maintain receiving, shipping, inventory, and materials-tracking records and documentation.
• Operate forklifts, pallet handlers, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment to stage materials and load trucks.
• Coordinate shipping and receiving activities with customers, suppliers, customer service, production, and other departments.
• Inspect products and shipments, report hazards or problems, maintain a secure and organized dock area, and support safety, training, quality, and special projects.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of administrative or operational support experience in shipping or manufacturing operations.
• Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles.
• Knowledge of materials-tracking, storage and retrieval, inventory control, reporting, spreadsheet, database, and related information systems.
• Basic computer and software skills, along with adequate written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organization and coordination skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and work across departments.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and perform basic arithmetic involving units, rates, ratios, and percentages. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
