Electrical Engineer (Maritime)

Location: Perth, WA, Australia; shipboard role with rosters of up to 6 weeks for domestic voyages and up to 8 weeks for international voyages

What you will do

• Maintain electrical motors, generators, main and emergency switchboards, batteries, and air-conditioning systems.
• Maintain fire alarm, general alarm, public address, AV/IT, navigation lights, and navigation equipment on mother vessels and tender boats.
• Rectify electrical defects recorded in the hotel defect book each day.
• Maintain refrigeration systems and test IAS systems as required by Class.
• Conduct engine-room tours, dine with guests, and maintain manuals and drawings required by AMSA and Class.

Requirements

• Electrical qualification.
• AMSA-endorsed Certificate of Safety Training (CoST).
• Seafarers Book, AMSA Medical, and a valid passport.
• Ability to commit to extended shipboard rosters, generally 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off, with international voyages lasting up to 8 weeks.
